Adobe Premiere Pro (CC)

I have been working with Adobe Premiere Pro (CC) as my primary non-linear video editing software for years. As the official editing software of Reel Life Productions (the film organisation I co-headed from 2017 to 2020) and for the music department at Phillips Exeter Academy, where I held a position as Music Videographer from 2017 to 2020, Premiere holds a special place in my work and in my heart.

Final Cut Pro X

I have used FCPX in my career as a freelance event videographer since 2015.

Camtasia Studio

I have used TechSmith’s Camtasia Studio for instructional design since 2014. I have also been involved in the beta testing of pre-release versions of Camtasia Studio since 2017.

Snagit

I have used TechSmith’s Snagit software for instructional design since 2014. I have also been involved in the beta testing of pre-release versions of Snagit since 2017.

Camcorder operation and troubleshooting

I am familiar with the operation and troubleshooting of most camcorders - I have worked primarily with camcorders in my freelance videography career.

Apple Logic Pro

I have experience using Logic Pro with complex audio interfaces, for both live music and audiobook recording.

Unity VR/AR Development (Vuforia) for Mobile

I am have used the Unity development engine to make virtual reality / augmented reality with the Vuforia module, including ground plane anchoring optimisation techniques and use of external resources. As part of a team working at Greenhouse Studios at the University of Connecticut, my team and I built an Android application capable of projecting scanned models of artifacts and documents from the University Archives and Special Collections in real space (mixed reality).

Android App Development / Publishing

I am familiar with the processes linked to developing and publishing Android apps (including those that use virtual reality / augmented reality) on the Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore, and the Huawei App Gallery.

Eclipse IDE

I have experience using the Eclipse IDE for basic Java development.

I have experience with the use of Processing and Scratch for instruction of the basic principles of computer code. I have hosted two coding workshops for elementary to middle school aged students in partnership with the Cabarrus Country Library system and code.org’s Hour of Code initiative.

Basic circuitry / soldering

I am familiar with soldering techniques for simple electronics and complex electrics.

Typing

I can type at a sustained speed of about 90 words-per-minute in English QWERTY, and around 70 WPM in French INTL QWERTY. I am also familiar with Korean Hangul IME, French QWERTZ, and French AZERTY. On a mobile touch-screen keyboard (I prefer Google’s Gboard), I maintain speeds of around 70 WPM without autocomplete or swipe assistance. I can also enter about 15 WPM on a T9 numeric keypad.

Basic computer software / hardware maintenance

Disassembly, assembly, drivers (specialty in printers, dedicated GPUs, Thunderbolt firmware) and the prevention of slowdowns or virus infections.

I have been awarded DELF certification in proficiency of the French language by the CIEP (Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques), a division of the Ministry of Education of France, at the DELF B1 and A2 levels. I have also been awarded a certificate of honour by Le Grand Concours (the National French Contest), a competition sponsored by the AATF (American Association of Teachers of French). I am currently pursuing a minor in French Language.

I am a heritage speaker of Korean, and am familiar with the 한글 (Hangul) alphabet.

I have worked on the design and deployment of two Wordpress sites - 1KL.org (no longer Wordpress) and ncslc.org - for the North Carolina Service Learning Coalition, I have served on the Executive Board as Director of Public Relations and Technology Consultant.

I am also familiar with the use of more GUI-based website design services, such as Squarespace, Weebly, and Wix. 1KL.org and francophonie.us are two sites I’ve designed and deployed on such services - this very site is a third!

Website / Infrastructure Security

I have been working with website security since 2016. During my tenure on the North Carolina Service Learning Coalition’s Executive Board as Director of Public Relations and Technology Consultant, I have successfully led defense efforts against two coordinated major cyberattacks (with IPs traced to originate from Ukraine and Russia), one of which involved a website hostage and ransom situation, and have overseen the deployment of two-step authentication, encryption, and other security measures in the NCSLC organisation. I have also defended the 1KL website and email infrastructure from numerous minor cyberattacks.

VPN / Onion Routing under nation-state or corporate surveillance

Through my work with 1KL and others, as well as study and implementation of resources from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, I have experience with the use of VPNs and onion routing as countermeasures against corporate surveillance and as defenses against nation-state surveillance.

I have used Adobe Illustrator (CC) to design graphics for laser cutting, as well as graphic design of logos and iconography.

Laser Engraving / Cutting

I have experience engraving and cutting glass, acrylic, metal, plastics, wood, cardboard, and a variety of other mediums. I have specific experience with engraving electronic devices (i.e. iPods, smartphones, digital stylus pens) for customisation and/or tracking purposes.

VLS Laser Cutter / Engraver Software

I am familiar with the use of VLS laser cutter / engraver software, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.

3D Printing / Rapid Prototyping

I am familiar with the use of 3D printers (across a variety of brands, such as Makerbot and Dremel) for rapid prototyping and parts replacement. for vehicles such as scooters and bikes.

Autodesk Sketchbook

I have used Autodesk Sketchbook - both the desktop versions and the mobile version - alongside Wacom-based tablet / pen technology for digital art.

DraftSight (Dassault Systemes)

I have used DraftSight in 2D for laser cutting and for modeling, including laser cutting of nets that can be assembled in 3D.

AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

I am familiar with the use of AutoCAD in 2D for laser cutting and for modeling, including laser cutting of nets that can be assembled in 3D. I am also familiar with the use of AutoCAD for 3D modeling which can be applied to 3D printing.

Sewing

I have worked with both fabric and leather using basic sewing techniques.
